Teach First is an independent charity which seeks to address educational disadvantage by encouraging talented graduates to commit to teaching in a challenging urban secondary school for two years, whilst gaining a PGCE and leadership training along the way, with the potential to also study towards a Masters. There is incredible scope for fundamentally changing the way subjects are perceived and taught in schools where many pupils just do not have access to a quality education within them, or the individuals with the passion and talent to engage them. Teach First gives graduates 6 weeks of intensive training before placing them into a school. The challenge is certainly tough, but the rewards and potential to make a difference are high!
It's time for you to make a difference – to invest your talents in changing lives and achieving something lasting. Your energy, intelligence and creativity can transform the futures of students and drive up standards in challenging schools around the UK. At the same time, it’s an opportunity to dramatically enhance your own career potential with leadership and management skills development classes, and valuable coaching and networking opportunities with Teach First’s diverse industry supporters.
Teach First is a demanding option that will challenge your confidence and abilities and push you harder than you’ve ever been pushed. But it’s also incredibly rewarding – you could literally transform people’s lives.
If you could really make a difference, would you?
If you could change children’s lives, would you?
If you could inspire and lead them to achieve their potential, would you?
And if doing all this changed your own future too, the real question is why wouldn’t you? Join in, stand out. Teach First.
Teach First is now in its 7th year, having been awarded 8th place in the Times Top 100 list of graduate employers, and is now seeking 650 graduates to join in June 2010. For more information, go to http://graduates.teachfirst.org.uk, or email Rachel at rkershaw@teachfirst.org.uk.
